The inspiration
It opens the way a knife opens fruit. Blood orange, sharp and slightly bitter, with the citrus accord behind it doing the work the orange alone could not.
Lavender and sage arrive next and cool the whole thing down. Saffron sits among them, warm where they are not, and the effect is a fragrance that cannot decide what season it belongs to. Amber and moss settle at the end and stop it deciding.
That indecision is the point. Cristal Rouge is the one to reach for when the weather will not commit either.
