The inspiration
Dark fragrances usually get there through smoke. This one gets there through flowers.
Cyclamen and blackcurrant open it cool and slightly bitter, which is already a warning. Then rose and sambac jasmine arrive with oud underneath them, and the flowers stop being pretty. Patchouli, incense and narcissus finish it, and narcissus is the one doing the real work: green, faintly animal, not entirely clean.
Noir Absolu is the least polite thing in the collection. It is not for every day and was never meant to be. Wear it where the light is low.
