The inspiration
Carnation is the flower nobody asks for any more, which is a shame and an opportunity.
Spice and exotic flowers open it, both of them broad accords rather than single materials, and they set a warm stage without saying much. Then the carnation arrives and says quite a lot: peppery, dry, faintly clove-like, a flower that behaves like a spice. Lily of the valley sits beside it and keeps it from getting heavy.
Vanilla, amber and musk close it warm. Diamant Absolu is the one in the collection that would have been fashionable in another decade and will be again.
