PERLA
Three citruses at once, which is more than it sounds like. Orange, lemon and bergamot at the top, and amber and vanilla waiting further down than citrus usually goes.
The inspiration
Citrus is the first thing to leave a fragrance. Perla is built so that what follows is worth waiting for.
Orange, lemon and bergamot arrive together, three variations on the same brightness rather than one citrus doing all the work. A fruity accord holds the middle briefly and hands over. Then amber, musk and vanilla, which is not where a citrus opening usually ends up, and the surprise is the reason it works.
It begins bright and ends warm, and takes its time getting there. Most citrus fragrances never get that far.
