SILLAGE LOINTAIN
Sillage is the trail a fragrance leaves behind you. This one is named for it, and what travels is the flower: peony and rose, held long after the fruit has gone.
The inspiration
Sillage is the word for what a fragrance leaves in a room after you have left it. Naming a fragrance after it sets a bar the composition then has to clear.
Blackcurrant, bergamot and raspberry come in bright and a little tart, but they are the introduction, not the subject. Peony and rose open in the heart and stay open, full and slightly dewy, with pink pepper keeping them from turning powdery.
Patchouli, sandalwood and cocoa sit underneath and do one job: they hold the flower in place. What crosses a room is the rose. Wear less than you think you need.
